Snow Event: Wednesday 12/04/24 – Thursday 12/05/24

Watch out for high winds and ice!

Event Forecast Timeline

There is A LOT of variance in the forecasts from city to city. Generally speaking, it looks like it'll start snowing heavily around 8:00 pm Wednesday night. Snow will continue on and off, finishing with heavy snow until 4:00am/5:00am.

Forecast Impact

As previously stated, there is a lot of variance in the forecasts (Shaker is calling for 2-4 inches, Cleveland Heights 3-6 inches, Mayfield 6-10 inches and so on.) It is unclear when each area will meet the 2" trigger.

Dispatch Time: 3:45 am
We are ready and anticipating dispatching all plows. Due to the differing forecasts, it's really hard to say what routes will get dispatched when, but we will post updates below. Stay safe and stay warm!

Live updates will appear below.

11:30 pm
It's common for forecasts to vary a bit, but I don't know the last time they've varied this much. According what they're saying now, it looks like we'll just be nearing our 2" trigger by the time folks start leaving for work in some areas. If this happens, I aplogize in advance, it's the worst time for snow to fall!
1:30 am
A very intense squall hit parts of our area. It should be finished now, and at most we're seeing about 1 inch. The snow is supposed to stop for a bit and pick back up again around 3:00 am, but we'll monitor it.
3:30 am
We have *not* hit 2 inches anywhere, but due to the high winds, there are some large drifts forming. We are not technically responsible for drifts, but we will be dispatching a few plows to help clean up the larger ones. We'll continue to monitor the snow, but it bulk of it should be done around 4:00 am. Be careful out there! The high winds blowing the snow around is causing rapid changes in visibility.
6:45 am
Our drivers are finding that about 50% of the driveways on their routes either meet the 2" trigger or have large drifts to plow. They are still experiencing white out conditions and slick roads - thank you for patient with them as they move as quickly as they can while remaining safe. If you must leave your house, please do so carefully, this low visibility is no joke!
11:30 am
All routes have been driven through once and drivers will now return to houses that did not meet the trigger and were skipped.
