Snow Event: Wednesday 01/14/2026 – Thursday 01/15/2026

Event Forecast Timeline

The current Winter Weather Advisory starts Wednesday and ends Thursday evening, though there is currently a chance of snow through Saturday.

Forecast Impact

Between 2-5 inches of snow are expected through Thursday evening, however, it is lake effect, so there is a higher chance of forecast inaccuracy. Temperatures are going to drop rapidly - Wednesday's high is 43 degrees and the low is 16 degrees, with wind chills potentially going below zero. Expect strong winds and ice as well.

Dispatch Time: 1:45 am
Hourly predictions are showing that we'll reach 2 inches of accumulation around 11:30 am on Thursday. However, we will be measuring around the clock since the forecasts haven't been very accurate. Stay tuned for updates! Please allow for extra time for your Thursday morning communite. With the significant temperature drop, roads may be icy. It is also possible that we could reach the 2-inch trigger around 7-8 am, when many folks are heading to work.

Live updates will appear below.

11:30 pm
The lake effect came down faster than predicted and we plan to dispatch plows around 1:30 am. We'll post an update if that changes.
3:45 am
We haven't seen a storm like this in a long time. With snow accumulating at over an inch per hour, our drivers are already reporting 4-8 inches of snow (with even taller drift piles) and it's supposed to continue to snow heavily for the next several hours! We are working as fast as we safely can to have driveways cleared before morning rush hour. This is a big storm, please hang in there with us as we try to keep up!
6:00 am
Our drivers are reporting a foot of snow on some side streets, 6"+ on some main roads, and almost non-stop white out conditions. The news is saying we're still supposed to get an additional 6-8+ inches today. I'd strongly suggest not leaving the house today, if at all possible!
8:00 am
All routes have been completed, although it may not look like it since the snow hasn't stopped! Drivers are taking a short break to refuel their vehicles and themselves, and will be starting routes for a second time shorty.
3:30 pm
All routes have been completed a second time. Some driveways that were plowed at the beginning of round two already have another 2 inches. Our contracts state we plow up to two times within 24 hours, but we are willing to go out a third time as long as it is after the snow has stopped, and our drivers have had time to eat and rest. The exact dispatch time is TBD, but will definitely take place after the winter weather advisory expires, which happens at 7 pm.  ***Having issues with the website preventing me from adding additional update lines*** 7:30 pm update: Drivers will start their routes for a third time around 11:30 pm. 4:30 am update: All routes have been completed a third time. Driveways with less than 1 inch were skipped.
